Theresa Raborn for Congress
Equal Application Amendment
Equal Application Amendment
Since the passage of the Congressional Accountability Act of 1995 (Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV) was the only member from either chamber to vote against it) which was amended in 1998, then amended by the Office of Compliance Administrative and Technical Corrections Act of 2015, most of the ability for Congress to exempt themselves from the laws they pass, has been eliminated. However, there are still a few. I will introduce a Congressional Accountability Amendment to the United States Constitution stating:
"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States."
